Day 2. Tuesday 17 November. Freshwater Lake and Trail hike, Sulphur Spa Experience & Rum TastingStart at 8am with breakfast at Palisades Restaurant, followed by a tour of the Fort Young Hotel property, before heading out to discover a very different side of Dominica: the cool mountain air and volcanic peaks of Morne Trois Pitons National Park.We will embark on a scenic hike to Freshwater Lake, set in the heart of the national park. It's a wonderfully different pace to the island's more commonly visited waterfall stops, offering a true taste of the "Nature Island" at altitude.After a leisurely lunch at a River Rock, we will continue to Wotten Waven, where Dominica's rugged landscape gives rise to naturally heated mineral pools. We will then continue into Morne Trois Pitons National Park to discover two of the island's most picturesque waterfalls. Begin at the tranquil Emerald Pool, tucked away amid lush rainforest, before continuing on to the beautiful Spanny Falls, where cascading waters and dramatic surroundings create a truly memorable rainforest experience.After returning to Fort Young Hotel for lunch, we will head out once more, this time to the water for snorkelling at Champagne Reef. Towering mangroves and tropical vegetation line the route, with birds, iguanas and mountain mullets visible beneath the clear, shallow water. Along the way, we'll pass the filming location of the Tia' Dalma hideaway from Pirates of the Caribbean, before stopping at a quirky riverside bar to enjoy a refreshing fruit drink amid tropical gardens.We will then continue on to Secret Bay, arriving in time to check in and enjoy lunch at Bwa Denn Restaurant. Start the day with breakfast at Bwa Denn Restaurant, then depart for the Kalinago Territory, home to one of the Caribbean's last surviving Indigenous communities.We will take part in an Indigenous Heritage Walk through Kalinago Barana Aute, learning about Kalinago heritage, storytelling and craft traditions, along with a fascinating insight into traditional cassava bread preparation.After lunch in Calibishie, we will continue on to discover Dominica's cocoa industry with an interactive chocolate-making experience at a local chocolate factory, before visiting the striking Red Rocks, where dramatic volcanic formations meet the Atlantic coastline, offering spectacular photo opportunities.We will then return to Secret Bay in the late afternoon for a farewell dinner with by the Secret Bay Team to close the trip in style.Overnight: Secret Bay ResortIncluded meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
