They are a boutique, B2B DMC specialising in highly personalised, experience-led journeys. Catering to a range of budgets, their itineraries combine destination highlights with an extensive portfolio of immersive experiences (many exclusive to Khiri Travel). These range from intimate cultural encounters and local food experiences, to cycling through rural villages, hiking, wildlife safaris and exploring the country alongside local experts.
People & Purpose
Backed by a 100% locally-run team, they know their country inside out and love sharing its lesser-known corners away from the beaten track. Their biggest strength is their service on the ground, with fast, detailed responses, personally vetted chauffeur-guides, specialist guides and 24/7 support. Giving back is also a priority through their programme Khiri Reach, which helps fund local conservation and community projects, including seagrass restoration that guests can participate in.
Since 1993
Khiri Travel began with a passion for discovery and a pioneering spirit in Southeast Asia. From its early days connecting Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, Khiri has grown into a regional DMC with a strong focus on genuine connections and continuous product development, all backed by excellent service and attention to detail.
Mahiru Fernando
Born and raised in Colombo, Mahiru's love of travel began on childhood road trips with his dad. He followed his passion into tourism, joining Khiri Travel in 2016 as a Travel Designer and working his way up to General Manager.
