The Adventure Connection is offering a unique opportunity to join a fantastic team of travel professionals. We are the UK's leading B2B adventure travel marketing and representation agency and have a global network of travel clients who use our services to help them to promote their businesses, primarily to the UK travel trade.
We are a growing organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and are now beginning to focus on representing locally-owned and sustainably-run hotels, lodges and camps as well as increasing the number of supporting events that offer sponsorship opportunities.
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Representation Manager to join our team. The main objective of the role is to help our clients (mostly overseas DMCs and some hotels/lodges) to develop commercial relationships with tour operators.
Requirements, responsibilities and expectations
Key responsibilities
You’ll be involved in a variety of objectives and tasks such as:
Develop business opportunities on behalf of our clients. This involves utilising your own contacts, researching and developing new contacts, developing rapport, making calls, sending emails, creating and attending meetings to develop opportunities, attending networking events
Identify and attend networking events and exhibitions to help promote our clients (and the company generally)
Occasionally manage and lead Fam Trips to worldwide destinations
Deliver Key Performance Indicators as set by the company from time to time (usually annually and quarterly)
Develop our clients’ potential by using the company’s Best Practice Toolkit for DMCs
Generate ideas and occasionally assisting with writing content (e.g. for social media posts and dedicated newsletters) to help promote key messages and news about your clients’ destinations
Constant updating and use of our database/CRM system
Occasional assistance with the planning and development of adventure holiday products (itineraries, costings, copy, images)
Other duties as and when required to support the team
Success in the role
Success in the role means developing profitable business for the clients you manage- measured by the number of clients’ products featured in tour operators brochures/websites and the amount of revenue generated for them. Using your own travel industry knowledge and contacts you’ll also use our extensive database to generate new business for clients. You will be confident, a good communicator and an excellent networker, always going the extra mile for your clients and making sure they are happy.
Experience and skills required
Drive, hunger and passion for travel and a can-do attitude that will help to win business for clients (DMCs and lodges)
Ideally a minimum of 10 years experience in relevant sectors of the travel industry (ideally in Product/Operations and Marketing/Sales for tour operators, or in a Representation and Marketing business)
Ideally product and/or sales experience of group tours, FITs and hotel/lodge contracting
Experience of the hospitality sector helpful and a mindset of client care
Extensively travelled
Network of contracts in the travel industry
IT-savvy. We use application software such as Asana, Google applications (Gmail, Slides, Sheets, Docs…), CRM system (e.g. Pipedrive) and electronic direct mail software (MailerLite)
A well-organised, calm approach to work. A can-do attitude and willingness to 'muck in' is a must!
Very good at time allocation, prioritisation and diary management
Able to attend functions, events, exhibitions and events occasionally
Numerate
Able to use initiative to research, find solutions and work unsupported at times
Practical, pragmatic, solution-focussed

Compensation
● Salary £34,000-38,000
● Annual bonuses based on performance metrics (equates to 10% of salary)
● Statutory Pension Scheme following completion of probationary period
