Developed by Hamilton Leisure, a family-owned Costa Rican hospitality group, the property reflects decades of experience in eco-luxury and regenerative tourism. The group specialises in creating unique connections between travellers, local communities and nature, transforming emerging regions like Caño Negro into world-class sustainable destinations.

At Tocu Tent Camp, sustainability is not just a policy, it’s our philosophy. We are fully committed to regenerative tourism through habitat restoration, reforestation projects and community empowerment in Caño Negro, a Ramsar-designated wetland of global importance.

Our 350-hectare private reserve combines conservation, sustainable agriculture and eco-education, with active programs such as jaguar monitoring and native tree planting.

We exclusively employ and train local staff, work with rural families to develop community-based tourism and support environmental education initiatives. While we are not currently members of Travelife, we operate in full alignment with global sustainable tourism standards and are exploring certification options.
