We are the UK's leading B2B adventure travel marketing and representation agency and have a global network of travel clients who use our services to help them to promote their businesses, primarily to the UK travel trade.
We are currently looking for an experienced person with travel industry experience (ideally in Product and/or Sales).
The main objective of the role is to help our clients (mainly DMCs but sometimes Tour Operators and Tourism Boards) to develop commercial relationships with tour operators.
Using your own knowledge of the travel industry in the UK you’ll utilise your own industry contacts and our extensive database.
Key aspects of the role
Managing and representing a small portfolio of travel clients.
Developing business opportunities on behalf of our clients. This involves utilising your own contacts, researching and developing new contacts, developing rapport, making calls, sending emails, creating and attending meetings to develop opportunities, attending networking events, keeping database up to date…
Delivering Key Performance Indicators as set by the company from time to time (usually annually and quarterly).
Identifying and attending events and exhibitions to help promote our clients (and the company generally).
Developing our clients’ potential by using the company’s Best Practice Toolkit for DMCs.
Occasionally assisting with writing content (e.g. for newsletters for The Adventure Connection and also dedicated newsletters for our clients).
Constant updating and use of our database/CRM system.
Occasional assistance with the planning and development of adventure holiday products (itineraries, costings, copy, images).
Other duties as and when required to support the team.
This is a full-time role and is home-based. You must be able and very willing to travel regularly and attend functions and exhibitions (mainly in London but sometimes overseas).
Package
Salary £30-34k depending on experience plus statutory Pension, KPI bonus incentive and travel opportunities.

Experience and skills required
The ideal candidate will have excellent travel industry knowledge (ideally 10 years or more experience of working in Product and/or Sales or Marketing for a U.K. travel company) and bring their own extensive industry contacts.
You will be driven and self-motivated to develop business opportunities on behalf of our clients (who are DMCs and Tourist Boards from around the world). As well as managing a small team, your work will involve utilising your own contacts, researching new contacts, developing rapport, making calls, sending emails, creating meetings and opportunities, attending networking events, keeping our database up to date and supporting other sales, product and marketing projects.
Qualifications, skills, experience and disposition
The kind of person we need is a proactive and likeable travel all-rounder with excellent communication skills - a consummate networker who also loves a challenge.
You will be well-travelled and have a passion to make a difference and maximise opportunities to grow the business. Strong work ethic needed as well as a good sense of humour.
Extensively travelled - especially Europe and Middle East but also in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Minimum ten years experience in relevant sectors of the travel industry (ideally in Product/Operations and/or Marketing/Sales for tour operators, or in a Representation and Marketing business).
Current or very recent office experience.
IT-savvy. Ideally with recent experience of using application software such as Asana, Google applications, CRM system (e.g. Pipedrive, HubSpot), website software such as Word Press/Wix, and electronic direct mail software (Mail Chimp or similar).
Copy-writing skills and experience.
A well-organized, calm approach to work and not become flustered by large workloads from time to time.
Very good at time management and diary management.
Able to network successfully at functions, events, exhibitions and events occasionally.
Numerate.
Able to use initiative to research, find solutions and work unsupported at times.
Well-organised, methodical, unflappable, a cool head.
A willingness to muck in and achieve results.
Practical, pragmatic, solution-focussed.
